Visited during December with snow on the ground. Wonderful site. You do have to park in the upper lot and walk down to the falls and viewing area. A little under a mile to get down there but the park has plowed a path to walk. From there you can decide if you want to do the longer trail walk. But quite an amazing site and experience when there is no one else around.
Rent a boat and paddle over to the island for an up close view of all the falls. It's a short but beautiful walk around the island. Hike to the Upper Falls (5-6 miles, lots of up and down) and catch a shuttle back to your vehicle at the Lower Falls (schedule and prices posted at the falls).
First time taking my family here. The kids enjoyed the small hike to the lookout spot if the falls. Will go back again for sure! Just as amazing as the upper Falls
This is a gorgeous park. I drove all the way from Metro Detroit to visit, and I wasn’t disappointed. The views are great, there are multiple viewing points, and most of the trail is very easily accessible. There is a point where it becomes an actual dirt (or mud) trail instead of a wooden path. Plus, there is a ton of parking. Check it out! (But, don’t miss the Upper Falls down the road.)
It's a nice relaxing place for nature livers. However, try to visit the lower falls first and then the upper falls. Though both the views are great, upper falls is more vibrant.
